The UK has some of the best universities in the world and has been one of the best places to study for decades.

Current scholarships for Ukrainians

Various financial support options are available to help fund your studies in the UK. These include scholarships, grants, bursaries, financial awards, and loans. The UK government offers hundreds of scholarships, grants, and additional financial support for students from several countries.

Available scholarships by the university:

1. The University of Manchester.

There is a program of 5 scholarships for students seeking temporary asylum. These scholarships are awarded once a year, at the beginning of the academic year.

Each scholarship includes

  • assigned work to support the student during the entire period of study;

  • provides full payment of tuition fees;

  • provides £5000 for living expenses each year

  • provides free accommodation in one of the dormitories.

Selection criteria:

  • the scholarship is available to students who are not eligible for financial aid from the UK;

  • must apply for admission to the university for 2023;

  • do not have access to mainstream funding (for example student loans).

The scholarship is closed for the following courses: Medicine, Dentistry, and Architecture!

Students from Ukraine studying at the University of Manchester can take advantage of psychological support at any time. There is also a financial support fund to help students who find themselves in a difficult situation. This fund is open to all students and operates permanently. The allocated funds help with tuition, accommodation, childcare, and utility costs.

Terms of payment

Ukrainians, as international students, will have to pay for their studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Tuition fees depend on the university you want to study at and the course you want to study. Unfortunately, there are no restrictions on the amount of payment. Generally, the more prestigious the university, the higher the tuition fees, and courses that require expensive equipment and resources will also cost more. Degrees in the humanities and social sciences tend to cost the least, while degrees involving laboratory or clinical work are more expensive. To find tuition fees for individual courses, use the tool

The fee can be found on the course details page after you have selected a course.

Admission conditions for Ukrainians

In Great Britain, a single Service for admission to universities and colleges has been introduced - https://www.ucas.com/. With this easy-to-use website, prospective students can apply to all UK universities, all online.

Foreign students (including Ukrainians) can apply to universities both through UCAS and directly. In 2022, the fee for applying through UCAS was £22 for a single choice and £26.50 for multiple choices. UCAS ensures that all your applications are sent to the universities of your choice, so it's an efficient university application system to use.
